Like cave-dwelling hermits that haven't twigged to a new world order, we keep being amazed and delighted when Felix demonstrates he actually learns stuff at school. This time he's come home knowing checkers! He learned by watching the "big" boys in after-school. He even taught Dean a variant where the kings can't get eaten by the regulars. We've been playing a lot, and it's satisfyingly fun.
BIG first for Milo: he wrote his name! At first we thought it spelled "MO", but then Milo pointed out the "i" and the "l" lurking on other parts of the page. Yay!
In other news, we have mice. They are unwelcome. We've caught two of them so far. Another ran across the floor as we wrote this.
