Nana paid us a visit for the long Columbus Day, er, Indigenous People's Day weekend. We made the most of it.

Both boys had a special day with Nana:

• Nana and Felix went to Fleet Week in San Francisco to see an air show with the Blue Angel fighter jets.
• Nana and Milo went to a pumpkin patch and to the Halloween store to get decorations.

Dean and Lucie had their special day, too: they went kayaking on the Russian River all by themselves!

And Felix has made a breakthrough on reading! Just this Thursday he suddenly started getting all the sight words we've been working on for a few weeks (like 'the' & 'and') and finding it much easier to sound out words. We don't know if it's just improved confidence, or lots of practice, or the time he's spent with Ron the reading tutor at school. Probably some of all of it. But it's great!
