Felix turned 15 months old and delights in his newfound ability to talk to mom and dad. He's also throwing more tantrums as he finds out that even if he successfully communicates his desire, like wanting to play with the steak knives, mom and dad don't always agree. Other parents we know are complaining that their babies this age are getting impossibly headstrong, but Felix isn't that bad (or maybe he's always been that bad, and we're used to it). Communication has just made things more interesting and fun for us.

New words:

• [pant pant]: panting is the baby sign for a dog.
• [countdown]: shaking his finger like he's counting down is his baby sign for a bottle of milk.
• [driving]: moving hands in a circle, as on a steering wheel, is the baby sign for a car.

At his 15th month checkup, Felix weighted 25 lbs 3 oz. (11.4 kilos), and measured 32.5 inches (82.5 centimeters)
