November 17-25

Dean and Lucie spent the weekend in Las Vegas with some friends, failing to win any money. Felix spent the weekend with his nanny Sylvie. Everybody enjoyed their respective trip.

Felix is starting to explore disobedience. A few times recently he has refused to do something, saying "No!" very defiantly, and watching us carefully to see how we'll react. In America, this phase is called the terrible twos. While many would find it exasperating, we find it fascinating. It's much more sophisticated behavior than we've seen from him before.

Now that he's shown himself sophisticated enough to refuse to do things, we've begun to ask him to do simple tasks, like helping us pick up toys. He'll often refuse, we'll insist, and he'll dissolve in tears. After a lot of talking, he'll agree to do what we asked. The conversations are a lot of fun:

Also: he learned his first color, yellow. He'll point at yellow things and say "jaune!" However, no matter how many times we go over red, blue or green he just doesn't have them yet.
