We packed up our strollers and diaper bags and a certain je ne sais quoi and took off for France. Lucie and the kids are still there, whereas Dean had to return for work after a week and a half. He'll have the house and all the outdoor cafes in Berkeley to himself for a week, which, in its own way, is a vacation.
